Bringing the fun back into photography
Last year I was finding that I wasn't doing a huge amount of photography. My mum was ill, so I wasn't going out much. I also found that I didn't want to carry around my D800, as it is big and quite heavy, particularly with a 24-70mm f/2.8 lens and I have never enjoyed using my Nikon P710, which whilst being compact, is also painfully slow, with a very average sensor.
I ended up buying a Fuji X-E1, with a couple of lenses. It is fun to use, easy to carry and has a great sensor. Over the last year, it has become my go to camera for general photography and have taken many more photos.
Below you can find a few photos, which I took during last year with the camera.
This is probably my favourite photo of the year.
I seem to have a thing for garden ornaments.
My mum has always enjoyed gardening and there are various plants and flowers around the garden, which come out at a variety of different times during the year.
No more ornaments, promise!
Macro shot
Taken in my local park, when I went for a walk with my mum during her recovery.
Walking around London and this image stood out for me.
Taken in Regents park
Another image taken in regents park. I wasn't the best time of day but I liked that he stood out against the grass.
Taken at the butterfly house at London zoo. Whilst the Fuji X-E1 is a great little camera, it probably wasn't the best camera for taking to a zoo, particularly with its rather slow autofocus.
Another image taken at Regents park.
